Filmmaker's Pitch
Our 'Pitching to Producers' session is back again for 2024.
We had fantastic feedback from 'Writers Pitch to Producers 2023'. So much so, we were compelled to do this again.
"Last year's Pitch Winner, Nathan Higgins, returns this year with the film he created from his winning pitch, Nightshave. It will be showcased in the 'Afternoon Delights - A Short Film Showcase
The value of pitching is having feedback from the room of fellow pitchers, and producers. It will give you insight on how others understand your story, and how to make your idea clear. You may also get some added benefits from pitching, like finding like minded people to join your crew, or find out your script is better as a series rather than a feature.
Submission Fee
The entry is $20 per person.
Your entry is considered complete once the payment has been made.
This entry fee allows us to cover the costs of pitching session at Misty Flicks Film Festival.
Criteria for Submission
This pitching session is ideal for a short film, but you are able to pitch a feature film or TV series (which is only recommended if you have made a short film previously).
Participants from anywhere can enter, however the pitch will take place on Sunday 24th in the morning of the Festival. This will be an invite only audience of participants, and producers.

What is Included?
An online meeting will be arranged for mentoring for the pitch with Prashanth Gunasekaran (director and co-producer Stranded Pearl), Misty Flick's talent development coordinator.
The Pitching Session
Sunday 24th November 2024, Cinema 3 - The Regent Theatre Te Awamutu
This is a closed session (i.e. not for the public)
What to expect
Jamie Irvin will welcome the group and put your mind at ease.
Each pitch will last 2 minutes, with feedback from producers lasting 5 minutes.
Once the group has finished pitching there will be further one on one time to talk with producers and spectators in the room.

Because this is a workshop within the festival, this is a separate cost to the festival pass.
The festival pass will have limited numbers, and sales will open for the festival pass on 14th October. We will be offering exclusive festival passes to you first via EventFinda
